Rinjani base camp was freezing last night, the temperature dropped to 4degree celsius when sun goes down. I managed to have a glimpse of the lake, and it was a "wow" before I hid myself in the tent. I had only six hours to sleep as guide told me to wake up at 1am to summit. I can never get a good sleep in 15°C and below, unless there's a heater I started to feel headache and my kneecap hurts. Many thoughts came into my mind. First question would be asking myself what am I doing here?

Cool thing about an extreme hiking is, you go to the mountain and get yourself suffering, and hide yourself in that freezing tent, You have no signal, no tv, that's how you will start to ponder about life like an old man. I curse a lot while getting to the top, be it any trails, as it makes me feel better. As the altitude get higher, the legs get numb and I feel like want to cry, but there's no turning back, nor can I afford a helicopter. You are miserable but you just move on. I guess mountain is good for introspection. I have never done any hiking which is higher than 400m since 2012, and I have almost forget how good it feels to be on the mountains. It's good to be back.
